Dragon’s Crown Academy is a prestigious international private school, to which people from all over the world are sent for instruction – and protection. The Academy provides a unique curriculum, extending beyond standard math and writing instruction to encompass a far more unusual realm of knowledge: the supernatural.
Built on the formerly-deserted Dragon’s Crown Island, the academy was originally a building constructed to contain very dangerous magic. The exposure of supernatural beings to society at large followed a short time after, and although to this day there are many who would deny their existence, the need for a safe haven for young and unpredictable individuals became clear. Those new to their powers were facing a difficult proposition, not only coming to terms with and learning to control their supernatural heritage, but also having to make the decision to push the supernatural into open society, or continuing to stay hidden and secretive like their ancestors.
Seeing a clear need for direction, the Kinsley family stepped in and re-purposed Dragon’s Crown Island. The old buildings were cleared out and Dragon’s Crown Academy was put up in their place. Surrounded by a small town known as Ash Mill, Dragon’s Crown Island is home to students, staff, and townspeople of all walks of life.
