Mathis Renald Crowley
PERSONALITY Matty is the sort of guy that you would want on your side, even if it wasn't a full on fight. He has the bravery of a lion whenever his friends are put on the line. This bravery, though, is hard to come by in any situation that doesn't involve immediate danger. He can't HISTORY Mathis is the second son to the head patriarch of the Crowley family. They are a prominent figure in the Death Eater circles in Ireland. Their history of support for blood purity goes back generations, far enough back that they can be traced back to before Voldemort's rise. Mathis' grandad, Art, was within the inner circle of Voldemort during the first rise to power. Their prowess in the Dark Arts is legendary in Ireland, but it's only recently they've begun to sneak their ways into England. The family is extensive, with a main family holding the majority of the prestige, but with seven small units that consist of cousins. One strain of Crowley is diluted by Veela about eight generations back. Matty's childhood was a lot like one could imagine a Death Eater child might have. He was taught blood superiority, about family before all else, and was spoon fed the fact that the red blood in his veins made him just about better than anyone else. However they were a fairly warm people. Having family meals every night when they weren't off making alliances and assuring that none of their kin were falling from the path. He isn't sure exactly when he realized that the ways of his family just weren't the right ones. When blood became unimportant next to a human life. But he thinks it was around the time that the Sorting Hat shouted out Hufflepuff and he saw the anger on his brothers face. After that he began his life of two faced living. To his family is was the cold and perfect example of a son. Even if said son couldn't cast a decent attack or jinx worthy spell to save his life. To his friends and the Order he was cheerful Matty. The guy that nothing bad could happen to because he was always smiling. |
