` EMMA FINNIGAN: the order meeting had a wreck for emma, mainly because of her older sister and alixander. both were looking out for her safety and had not approved of her sneaking out of the castle to go to the order meeting. a lot of the older siblings were disapproving of some of their younger siblings showing up to the order meeting. some of the siblings didn't want their younger siblings involved at all and some just wanted them to stay at the castle. leaving the castle was a risk, but one worth taking when it was important. since starting the term, she had caught on quick to apparition. most likely because she desired to get away from the castle at times even though she wouldn't leave it. the castle had too much history for the finnigan family to simply run and hide. people may have thought of the family as lacking brains in that situation, but it was a situation where their bravery outweighed the logical solution. to run and remain safe. after returning to the castle, her absence had thankfully not been noticed. it made her think that charlie had some kind of connection with the death eaters since her absence was hard to not notice since she had a temper like her sister. this time around, she had left without a notice to anyone. the only ally in her absence was the dark sky which she had waited for, the entire day. only days had passed since the order meeting, but she needed to see alixander. the two had been sending owls to one another, with her knowing his last location was france. emma had apparated to the equivalent of the ministry in france, hoping to find alixander. the building was tall and much more elegant than the ministry in britain. she had to admit it was much more beautiful than the britain building, so she sat waiting in a room for him which she had been taken to when she had asked for alixander warrington. the office belonged to dominique weasley, so it was clear which weasley he had been talking to. judging from their owls, he hadn't wanted to see the woman again though they had encountered one another in the order meeting. talking about dominique was not what she had arrived at the ministry for. in the days that had passed since the order meeting, her youngest sister had been murdered for going out after curfew. it was dumb to commit what her sister had done to see alix, but she was willing to take the chance. she needed to talk to someone other than her older sister in person and there wasn't anyone better than alix. emma sat at the desk in the chair, looking over the sketches that dominique had left on her desk of a creature that had been discovered. the eyeliner she had put on in an attempt to look presentable in class earlier in the day, had been wiped away. she had spent most of her time crying over her sister and was barely holding it together at dominique's desk. typically she would have worn brighter clothes than what she had on, but she had settled for a dark blue shirt with blue jeans, not entirely focused on her fashion for the day.

I have finally seen the light , And I have finally realized what you mean Alixander was looking for an excuse. Any excuse to get to the castle. But the death eaters weren't letting anyone in. Not even the family friend that they knew for years. He found himself extremely upset as he tried to owl the girl he knew he had to comfort, he had to help. Alixander, rubbed a hand over his forehead. He should be there for his friend, practically his sister, but there was very little chance for him. The school was in near lockdown to outsiders, probably the death eater's rouse that everything is fine, but where Alixander could easily be one of them, he'd assumed they'd let him pass. However it didn't work.
So he went back to france, to the place where his job made him stay to study a creature that was recently discovered by dominique weasley. Letting out a breath, he heard a strange word around the office that someone was there to see him. No name was given which thought that meant there'd been a muggleborn escaped or something else that happened. Xander moved towards Dom's office, walking in and looking in surprise at the girl who seemed to always be able to find him. "Emma." He breathed, "I'm sorry." Xander knew those words wouldn't cut it, but he moved forward to hug the girl. It didn't matter that they started off rocky, these two were as thick as thieves forever. | words: xx notes; <3 |

` EMMA FINNIGAN: it was ridiculous to sneak out of the castle to talk to someone, who had just been disappointed in her sneaking out of the castle previously. however, she had to sneak out of the castle because the castle wasn't some place where she wanted to grieve or talk to anyone. she also didn't want to just send an owl to her best friend. it was weird to think alix was someone that emma turned to considering the two hadn't gotten along when they first met. she had been dating his brother when they were introduced. needless to say, the two started off on the wrong foot. it was surprising to her when he reached out to her after her brother dumped her through the use of a owl. her brother had sent a simple note saying that their relationship was over. it was something that had caused her to put up a wall to other boys, barely exploring any other options since tobias had dumped her. with the broken relationship, she had gained an older brother figure out of it. alixander had become like an older brother to her, someone she could turn to when she couldn't turn to her own family. a lot of girls, for some reason, thought that there was something going on between the two. while she had one time thought he was attractive, she never considered dating the older brother of her ex. instead, he had become more like a brother to her thus she just never felt those feelings for him. the older brother who would be there to comfort her even though she was breaking a rule of the precious castle. she had been sitting at the desk of dominique weasley when he had walked in, surprised that she was there. emma had a habit of finding him, perhaps knowing more about him than he thought. when alix had walked in, she got up from the chair. the two hugged as he said that he was sorry. emma did kiss him on the cheek before pulling away from him. she looked up at him and said, "it's not your fault, xander." she had her arms crossed as if defending herself for any comments to come. she normally would have put up a fight over anything, wanting to always be right. however dealing with a death was not an easy thing. it had taken her so long to grieve over her father's death, it still effected her. it was why the two sisters were not seeing eye to eye since they had different opinions over what emma was to do, in terms of the order. she bit her lip, debating what she was going to say next. it had to be said because it was going to eventually come up. she said, "i'm sorry if this is stupid, but i had to see you and get away from that place." she remembered being told how stupid it had been to leave the castle previously. she wasn't caring much for the punishment that awaited her. she turned her attention to the sketches of the creature on dominique's desk, moving her hand over the sketches, looking at them yet again. she said, "it's ironic how i can get away with this, but not even my younger sister can. days in between each other." her last sentence sounded like it barely wanted to come out, as if she was going to start crying yet again. it was rare for her to cry, one of the few occasions being deaths of loved ones. she kept it together though for now, not crying in front of alix.`ooc notes; </3

I have finally seen the light , And I have finally realized what you mean Alixander was always grateful for having Emma in his life. He was... very different before he met her. And while that was good for some reasons, Alixander found he really didn't have anywhere to put any sort of emotions. He was forced to contain them as his own family didn't want them. So he was standoffish, ruder than he was now. Well, he would always be rough around the edges, but at least now he could reach a point where he was actual able to open up. And it's all because his ridiculous little brother was a little prick. Xander cared for him, of course, but he was still a fucking prick. Particularly where girls were concerned and Xander was happy Emma rid of him. He remembered how Xander and Emma would fight, always be at each others throats and considered it fondly. It was fun messing with the girls that his brother brought around. Gave him some break from his own thoughts and the assholes he was used to at work.
"It's warranted." he murmured, shoving his hands in his pockets and watching her trace around the office. He himself looked around. Alixander had slowly gotten to know the finnigans over the years, and sophie's death hit him like an arrow to the heart. He could only imagine what everyone else in the family was doing to cope. Escaping to find comfort seemed to be the least of their worries. Particularly with a brother like Emma had. "I'll get you back safely when you choose to return." He said... "if you choose to return." He would be more than willing to help her with her studies so that she didn't have to return. But that was her decision and he's given her the options a few times over.
He exhaled slowly, knowing that there was nothing he could say that could make this better. He wasn't the.. .best at comforting people. But he would try. "the school targets the easy." he said, through clenched teeth, there really was no way of acknowledging how angry he was about this and the wrath the person will get when he finds out who killed the young girl. "And they won't get away with it." He managed to get many out of the school with help from the inside, but the terror Sophie must have been feeling. Xander moved forward and put a hand on her shoulder. If there was anyone that she could cry in front of and not be judged- it was Xander.

` EMMA FINNIGAN: despite the age gap between the two, they had grown to be practically like siblings to one another. it was silly to think before they would argue with one another and both held a dislike for one another. it was most likely because in a way, they were similar. they butted heads at the beginning. though it was when xander's brother, tobias had broken up with her that xander had reached out to her. he had most likely found out how tobias had ended things and felt it was quite cowardly to breakup with someone by simply sending a owl. since reaching out to her, the two became quite close and she turned to him more than her own brother. her sister had been grieving on her own thus that left her alone to grieve. there was no way in hell that she was going to grieve and talk to someone in the castle after what had happened. she had decided to leave the castle and visit xander, even apologizing for the visit. it was stupid to leave the castle as he had pointed out before though it was necessary to get away from the castle for the time being. the finnigan family wasn't exactly the good type of family to be around to grieve with either. charlie was off doing, who knew what. sean and her didn't get along too well. their father had been killed on the grounds during the battle of hogwarts. as for their mother, she was probably drinking herself until she blacked out, the usual routine. he had told her that he would get back there safely when she chose to return and added, if she chose to return. the chance to be away from the castle was quite tempting. he had offered before to help her with magic, if she chose to leave the school. each time, she had refused since she felt it was right for her to stay. just like her stubborn father, she wanted to stay there and didn't want to hide away. it wasn't right when her friends were at the school. it wasn't right that she had lost two family members on the school grounds. emma said, "thanks xander, but i can't leave. it just wouldn't feel right." she had explained each time before why she didn't want to leave the castle to him, not going into it again for the present time. since the two were so close, she knew that he wasn't the best at comforting people. that was something that they both shared since any time someone was crying around her, it just felt awkward. she didn't want to say something and it be taken offensively. finding the right words to say to someone after a tragedy was hard. despite that, she had gone to him since it felt safer to visit him than stay in the castle or go to someone else. the only other person outside of the castle, being her mother. someone who was worse at comforting people than xander and emma, perhaps both combined. she listened as he said how the school targeted the easy and said that they wouldn't get away with it. if the death eaters knew better, they would have stopped targeting the finnigans already. charlie and emma both didn't know how to keep their mouths shut too well around the death eaters nor would they have taken the death of their youngest sister lightly. she said, "they had no reason to attack her. she didn't speak out at them or try to throw a book at their face, anything like that." the thrown book to a face was definitely emma, who had thrown one the first day that the death eaters began teaching three years ago. when she felt water running down her face, she thought, 'just great' and used her hand to wipe away the tears running down her face. trying to keep her composure, if she even had a good one, she asked, "why didn't you tell me about you attending the order meeting?" it had been a question on her mind and one that would take the conversation to a subject to keep her mind off what had happened. she had been a bit surprised by his appearance at the order meeting. emma knew he couldn't have possibly been a death eater, but had thought of him as being neutral. she wondered what else he did that he didn't tell her about. her eyes didn't stay focused on him throughout the entire conversation, they had wandered until that question.`ooc notes; </3

I have finally seen the light , And I have finally realized what you mean Surprising as it was, Xander had found he barely noticed the age gap. There was always an undertone of a relationship that he was more of an older brother than a friend. But otherwise, Emma and him had a close connection as best friends. He remembered her to be a little shit as far as he was concerned. Just another one of Tobias' girls who lacked personalities or brains. But the fights and squabbles they had were always interesting. And he couldn't help but find some of them amusing, even though he wouldn't have ever admitted to it. So when she was hurt, just like the others, Xander couldn't help but reach out. He had a problem that he was far too sympathetic and reached out to help her out. Because despite every fault in his brother, Xander could see that she'd liked him very much.
She declined the offer and he nodded, proud but worried. As he always was of the girl. "Understood, but if you change your mind. Tell me." Because she had every right to, and Xander would drive through hell if it meant keeping what he cared about safe. And he would probably have to by the end of it. As much as he tried not to care about everyone around him, he was finding that he was failing himself. Because he put enough stock in the world around him than he would like to admit. His heart hurt when everyone else was hurt around him, and he had his weaknesses. More now than ever.
It wasn't fair what they did to sophie and he just nodded quietly. There was nothing that could be said. She didn't deserve this, but he knew this was just the first of people targeting members of the families involved in the new order. And his heart hurt far to much to even think about that. The young ones, people he needed to get out, pureblood or not. Maybe he would contact Victoire, before it was too late. Xander furrowed his brow at her question, knowing it would come up. "I'm neutral... officially, but I wanted to show my support in the Order."Xander spoke simply, rubbing a hand on his forehead, a sure sign that he was considering letting it all out. "I haven't been completely honest in what I've been doing lately... Emma." Leaning back on the desk, he watched her. "I've been helping Muggleborns and squibs leave the wizarding world. I use my spot as a researcher for the ministry to travel and help relocate people who aren't safe." It was weird saying it out loud. He hadn't for a while... Dom just sort of guessed. It was different, but this was... essentially coming out front to his best friend about something that felt like bragging but wasn't. Not at all.

` EMMA FINNIGAN: another reason that she had gone to xander was because she knew that the two could have a conversation that wasn't going to relate to what was going on the castle. at least, the death that had happened. the two would have went onto a completely different topic soon enough because they both weren't good at comforting people. it was a surprise that they had became friends through him reaching out to her after his brother broke up with, given that fact. emma had tried not talking to xander at first about what had happened though eventually the two had began talking. some were surprised by the fact that she considered someone several years older to be a best friend to her, but anyone that knew the two well knew why they got along. one similarity that they both perhaps didn't know that they had was that they both cared about people. she cared to stay in the school despite all that happened since after the meeting, camden davies had sent her a owl asking to be part of a group. a group that was something similar to dumbledore's army since the order had been so against anyone in the school, participating despite the conditions that they were living in. emma had agreed that the group was necessary thus that was something that she couldn't leave behind now. especially after sophia had been killed though she didn't tell xander just yet. she didn't want to hear how wrong it was for them to form any group even with the risks of death eaters finding out what was going on. had hogwarts been like it was before, she wouldn't have had known what torture was like. despite knowing what it was like, she had declined his offer for her to leave the school and learn magic from him. she didn't doubt his abilities though the castle held too much history for the finnigan family to run and hide from, plus the group that had been formed. she just nodded to what he had said about telling him, if she changed her mind. if there was one person that she knew that would help her leave the castle completely behind, it was him. her elder sister had gotten a job at the castle as way to help protect sean and her though it was unsuccessful so far. her sister had been sent to st. mungo's at the beginning of the term and had been tortured for information about the order. as for sean, the two just didn't get along too well and he had never mentioned any intention of leaving the school behind. it would take a lot for a finnigan to leave the castle permanently no doubt. despite the differences of houses in the family, each of them had the same trait of bravery that their father had. as for her mother, she was a drunk and barely paid any attention to her kids. it had been like that for three years and was going to end up as a continuing cycle until someone snapped her out of it. to get the topic off of the depressing topic that would have just kept the tears rolling down her face, she had changed the topic by asking him a question. she had asked about why he hadn't told her about showing up to the order meeting. he began to explain to her that he was neutral, something she had always guessed to herself about him. there was something that he wasn't telling her, she could tell before he even said that he hadn't been completely honest with her about what was going on with him. emma listened, more intrigued as to what that was. a warrington was helping muggleborns and squibs?! it was an interesting thing to hear from xander. she wouldn't have guessed him to have helped muggleborns and squibs despite the danger in doing so. mainly because it meant death for anyone that was found out. she processed the information as he said it, watching her for her reaction. she asked, "how long have you been doing this?" emma didn't sound mad at him not telling her soon since she wasn't always telling him her own business, for example forming a group with camden davies. she was just curious to know how long xander had been helping others, if it had been long, it was impressive that he had gotten away with it so far. something that she could have learned from him since she got caught in quite a few things. emma said, "i think what you are doing is great and i hope you continue doing it though please, stay careful." the end of her sentence was definitely more meaningful than the rest because she couldn't lose someone else or she would end up setting the death eaters ablaze. she had leaned against the desk next to him as she wondered what his response would be, what else he would tell her.`ooc notes; </3
