the only exception , was it really ever worth the risk? Madison stood up, leaving the ravenclaw common room with a flourish. She was so done. The person she was talking to had the IQ of a cockroach and her terrible patience was wearing thin. So, in mid conversation, she just left, not finding another second to waste with the perky perfectson that was telling her all about the grades of the high and mighty. Maddie walked down the stairs, glaring and muttering to herself mocking the guy who was so enamored by himself that he probably didn't even realize she'd left. She had her bag over her arm slung easily as she waked into the library.
To nobody's surprise, the Ravenclaw common room was located ironically close to the Library. If that didn't tell you the amount of snobbery and pride the rested with the Eagles, nothing would. She plopped down at a table in the back, playing absently with the charm that dangled from around her neck. She blew hair from her face before digging into her bag, her hair falling right back to where she attempted to remove it. Frustrated she swatted it away and pulled out her quill and parchment, starting on a potions essay for next week. She wanted to get a good grade on it, and potions was easily her best subject. She heard a rumbling and looked up quickly, watching a few books fall down onto her desk, spilling her ink. "What the fuck!" she jumped back- sliding out of her chair, and walked around the isle, 'Oi, what's the big idea?" Because the reasoning for the falling of heavy tombs of information was the incompetant person who pushed a bit too hard in returning a book on the other side of the shelf. | @open words; xxx notes <3 |

| I don't care ✘ what you think as long as it's about me Jaxis's heart stopped as he tripped and knocked over some books on a table. He had been lost in the clouds, thinking about some Transfiguration homework that had him stumped. He had to transfigure a possum into a porcupine and for some reason it had been giving him trouble. Generally he wasn't too much of a klutz -- he played Quidditch after all, but he had pushed a bit too hard returning a book to the shelf and some spilled over and collided onto the desk on the other side.
He rushed over to a girl he recognized, but didn't know. Madison Goldstien. She had a reputation of being rude, but Jaxis felt a pang of solidarity. They had shared in tragedy, her more than most and he understood how that could make someone bitter at the world. He looked up at her as he began to collect the books he had knocked over and gave her an apologetic frown.
I'm really sorry, I should have been paying attention. He said to her exclamation, and swearing at him. He flicked his wand, with an over the shoulder glance to make sure the librarian wasn't looking and returned the books to their shelves, and returned the ink that had spilled on the desk to it's bottle, making her paper not ruined. He shrank a bit under her glower. She had pretty features, a soft-face, even with her glaring face. It bore the tired look of an overworked student, and he though he saw worry on it as well. He all to well knew the feeling, with the Death Eaters ruining the school and the world around him. He sported a few burn marks and scars on his arms from the times they had thought he'd stepped out of line.
He looked her in the eyes and gave her a genuine apology.
"I'm very sorry. Nothing makes me madder than someone ruining my train of thought. I'll let you get in a free shot if it helps." He smiled meekly at her and rubbed his neck awkwardly.

the only exception , was it really ever worth the risk? Maddie didn't immediately recognize the boy, but she hasn't cared about the names of people in a while. She lost all ability to care a little while ago. And understandably so, but she focused all of her negativity outward. She pushed away everyone that meant anything to her and ceased to care about anyone since. So when the boy started cleaning up her shit, she crossed her arms over her chest, a scowl on her face.
After a moment of digesting what the fuck he was talking about, Maddie straightened. "A free shot?" she asked, rolling her eyes. "I'm not going to hit you, idiot." She brushed passed him. What a stupid kid, though she supposed he was probably used to it, as most people were during this time in the school. They all were tortured in their own times, Madison just stayed out of the initial crosshair. "Just would you quit dropping books?" She said, her voice softening, he seemed so... attacked. what was going on? She didn't want to be nice, so she felt her face harden again, flattening out her parchment and weighting them down. Waiting for the kid to leave.
