ADAM OLIVER WOOD : POSSIBLE PLOTS?

HUGO ARTHUR WEASLEY - What better friend for a Wood than a Weasley? (Hugo scoffed at this). Not really. Hugo and Adam will know each other on the sole fact that when Hugo isn't working or getting tossed, he's in the Greenhouse. Hugo is a member of the Order -though grudgingly- and might help try to and keep Adam out of the Order. Tell him to stick with the kids because they need help more than the Order.

@matty - So... Mathis is probably Adam's worst student. Think Neville in Potions kind of bad. He's constantly mixing up plants. He's dropped a mandrake pot, thankfully it was an immature plant though. He tries hard but plants just aren't his thing. Maybe Adam can offer extra tutoring?

WILLIAM GREY CHARLES - They are both professors. I'm sure they know each other.

I love the idea of him visiting the shop. It does give a good reason for a Herbology professor to visit a shop like that. Maybe he sometimes helps around in the greenhouses, and maybe he could "borrow" her for a lesson in Herbology. What a Herbologist does and what the work exactly asks?
IT could give a great opening and of course she would know the wood family. It has been in the news that his father was kidnapped and his mother was killed. So that would probably be some knowledge.

Aurora & Murtagh
I was thinking that these two could have a bit of a history together? Partly because Murtagh would have spent a good portion of his Hogwarts career being pulled out of the lake where he was trying to observe all the wonderful creatures in it, which would probably have been brought to Aurora's attention sooner or later, and partly because Murtagh's got really bad dyslexia and Aurora could have been involved in any special arrangements they needed to make with regards to learning support? In the present Murtagh's likely got family at the school (traditionally they'd homeschool but going on the assumption that the death eaters have put the law that every kid goes to Hogwarts back in place then they'd be students there) and his daughter's going to be going there in a few years, so he'd want the place as safe as possible. Maybe under the guise of coming to study/visit the giant squid or the merpeople in the lake he quietly passes on any rumours he's heard about anything that might concern Hogwarts on to her?

Probably haven't had much to do with each other so far, but sooner or later he's going to be revealed as a necromancer, so we could maybe do something with that?

Teddy & Murtagh
So. These two having a relationship might depend on when Teddy started his job? Around five years ago now Murtagh's daughter suffered spell damage which left her with epilepsy, and because it was a threat to the statute of secrecy she was looking at a lifetime spent on a secure ward. After spending two years trying to convince the powers that be to let her come home with him and becoming afraid that she was being abused on the ward Murtagh joined the death eaters on the basis that they said they'd give her back if he helped them take over. So. These two could, if Teddy was working at St Mungos at the time, have a history together? Maybe it would have started out fairly good, if Teddy was trying to help Murtagh get his daughter home, then soured over time when things kept going wrong and is now in ruins after decisions they've both made?

Aurora & Murtagh
Awesome So they'd have gone from quite a close student/teacher relationship to increasingly good friends now that Murtagh's out of Hogwarts? She'd have intimidated the hell out of him while he was a student but I think he'd be slightly less scared of her as an adult. And he'd certainly turn up to help the merpeople and giant squid if ever they needed it, or just to refresh his mermish. As for the death eaters, Murtagh's not one by nature (if he's got any political/social leanings at all it's for an independent wizarding Ireland) but he's not a spy either. He joined because they promised him that he could take his daughter home from St Mungos if he did and thus far he's pretty much tried to keep his head down and his daughter safe. That might change in the future but for now he's just a reluctant death eater who wants to protect his loved ones and try to make sure that they're as safe as can be.

Teddy & Murtagh
Basically the timeline I've got in my head for the two years Murtagh's daughter was on the ward were that she got hurt and they were initially quite optimistic about her making a recovery or, when the seizures seemed set to stay, being able to live a fairly normal life in the community with some adjustments, such as living in an all-wizarding settlement. Then whenever they tried to get her home their plans, suggestions and pleas got shut down until it became clear that the government just did not want her to leave the secure ward as they considered the risk too great. At that point Murtagh's daughter would have been on the ward from the ages of 3-5 and towards the end of that period he became very concerned - almost panicked - that someone on the ward was abusing her. So, when the death eaters said they'd give her back if he helped them in to power, he agreed to it because he had no idea what else he could do. So. His relationship with the healers would have started out good - they were helping his little girl to get better, they were trying to help him get her home - and then as their attempts to get her off the ward repeatedly failed he'd have got more frustrated and mistrustful of them and towards the end he'd have seen them almost as an enemy because they were keeping his daughter from him and might have been hurting her. Then he joined the death eaters, a group Teddy considers his enemy. So. Long and emotionally complex history?
