Hugo liked to get away from his life. That much was obvious to just about anyone who spent five minutes following the Weasley. Which meant more often than not he was actually anywhere than where was expected. You thought he'd be at the Hog's Head for the third time in the row and he'd be browsing the racks at Twisted Arts. Think you saw a flash of him at work but really it was his day off and he was sipping brandy at The Three Broomsticks. So, yes. Hugo liked to be anywhere he could whenever he could. In fact he could really only be counted on when it came to family or dangerous situations.
So in keeping with his "I'm not going to do what you bloody well expect" routine, Hugo changed into a pair of tight trousers and a loose light grey muggle shirt with a neckline that would have been scandalous if he was a bird. But he wasn't and he was pretending to be a muggle anyway, so he'd go all out. This seemed like the fashion choices they'd make.
The Weasley traded in a few galleons and sickles to get the flimsy paper that counted for muggle money and then shoved the "pounds" in his pockets with no regards for their getting crumpled before leaving Diagon Alley through the Leaky Cauldron. A few minutes later the wizard was disappearing into a crowd that didn't see his freckles and red hair and automatically think they knew all about him. His wand was strapped to his lower calf where he could access it if he needed but it still remain hidden.
It took near half a hour before Hugo managed to catch a few blokes willing to point him in the way of a bar. Which is how the wizard found himself outside a strange looking building with loud music pulsing out and lights flashing in a way he might of thought ominous if he hadn't known for a fact they weren't spells. As he got ushered inside he was surrounded by even louder people (who he couldn't really hear over the music anyway) and a lot of people walking by that had glowing designs on their skin. Really. He wouldn't ask. Muggle fashion.
So he just made his way to the actual bar where he thought it'd be safe to order just a normal brandy. Not what he preferred at the Three Broomsticks, but he wasn't willing to try non-fire whiskey. After fumbling around with the "pounds" and spilling a handful of "pence" piece things that he just left on the floor, he had a rather excessively large glass of something he suspected was not brandy. But it was alcohol so he'd drink it.
With a small smile he glanced around for somewhere off to the side to sit and drink and watch the strange muggle dancers. Off in the corner -a rather dark one but it looked fairly quiet- there was a table with only one bloke sitting in. Perfect. The Weasley made his way over to the dark haired male and tapped gently on the table to get attention. "Mind if I take a seat? Everywhere else is taken." || template designed by NEMO of adoxography ||

He didn't go out much and, when he did, it was usually just to observe others. He typically didn't go to bars, especially since most of the time he just ended up surrounded by other Muggles and, well, they weren't exactly on his hit list, but he had been bored so... what the hell. He deserved a night off, even if he wasn't really taking a night off. He would still be on high alert. He always was. You never knew when a Death Eater would appear out of nowhere, looking for either him or another With Hunter. Sometimes Eric even considered legally changing his name but figured they would find that out eventually, seeing as they had magic on their side and, well, being related to the great Harry Potter kind of made his life more difficult than he wanted it to be. He resented the Potters sometimes since they were the reason his own family was dead but he knew it wasn't really their fault. It was that other guy, the dark wizard, Voldemort. It was annoying how, even though he was dead, he was still causing problems. Eric hated it but he didn't talk about it much. In fact, he didn't talk much about anything. He had become rather quiet, even going as far as cutting himself off from his old Muggle friends. He told himself he did it for their safety though he knew it was also because he just didn't know what the hell to say to them. They had no idea about magic and wizards and Death Eaters and that seemed to be all his life was about anymore. It was far from normal.
The young man sighed, leaning back in his seat and letting his eyes scan the mass of bodies on the dance floor and around the bar. A majority of them were men, or men in drag, but there were a few women as well - probably lesbians - but they were all normal. They all belonged here. They all looked so blissfully ignorant and Eric envied them. But there was one man, a man with red hair, that was fumbling with his money and Eric found himself sitting up a little straighter, watching him like a hawk, eyes narrowing slowly. He couldn't be sure but... your average Muggle wouldn't be fumbling with money like that. Keep an eye on him, he thought to himself, turning his head away just enough to be able to watch him out of the corner of his eye as he picked up his own drink, half empty and growing warm, and took a sip.
He was surprised, and a bit amused, when he saw the man walking in his direction. He lowered the mug and turned to look at him with raised brows as he tapped at the table, keeping his expression neutral. "Mind if I take a seat? Everywhere else is taken." He shrugged, motioning at the seat opposite him at the table with his hand. "Be my guest," he said politely though his tone remained distant, as it usually did. At least it's easier to watch him like this, he thought as he offered the man a slight smile and a tip of his head, though where there's one there's usually more.

"Thanks, mate." Hugo offered the muggle a grin as he slid into the seat across from the man. His drink sloshed over the lip a bit and he brought his hand up to lick the liquid off before turning his attention to where the other patrons were dancing and laughing. While his companion didn't seem the type like them, Hugo was intrigued by their actions. All the pubs he'd been into prior had been the standard sit for a pint, talking to your friends, maybe get a bite and head home. None of this dancing and bright lights and pounding music. Hugo's finger tapped a steady beat against the table as he brought his mug to drink.
The whole lot of dancing muggles looked like it would be fun to join. Get lost in a sea of faceless and nameless bodies that just didn't know the war waging just outside their doorstep. He wished he didn't feel as guilty as he did for his desire to become one of them.
It took near ten minutes of just observing the others before Hugo realized that the muggle kept looking towards him. It was at that moment he also realized he hadn't actually said a single word past thanking the man for his sharing of the table. Hugo took a drink of his brandy and let the familiar burn -though the taste was odd- settle in his stomach before he spoke up. "My names Hugo, by the way. Yours?" || template designed by NEMO of adoxography ||

The man - possibly wizard - thanked him and Eric shrugged, waving a hand with a friendly smile as he continued to watch the red head. He took his seat across from him and Eric arched a brow curiously, letting a low chuckle when the stranger ended up spilling some of his drink onto his fingers. The sound, however, faded as the stranger brought his fingers to his lips and licked the alcohol off of them. Oh. The Dursley blinked, amused, but turned his eyes away, gazing out at the crowd. He couldn't allow himself to be distracted. His body was already tensed, muscles coiled as he waited. He knew that, if this was a wizard, he would most likely have his wand with him. Eric could get away with sneaking a knife or two into a club - which he had done tonight, of course - but sneaking a gun into a place like this wasn't easy and he hadn't bothered to bring one with him which meant the wizard would have an advantage over him. Just one, quick flick of his wand could render Eric paralyzed or dead. Eric was aware of this. Honestly, magic freaked him out. He didn't hate it, though. He respected it. He also just kind of wished it didn't exist.
A few minutes passed of silence between the two men and Eric, once again growing curious, returned his eyes on the red-haired man. He was watching the dancing crowd as if he had never seen anything like it before. Has he never been to a club before? he thought, taking another sip of his drink, which was by now no longer cold, but it would be a waste to just let it sit there. Another moment of silence passed and the stranger finally looked back at him though instead of speaking he took a drink from his mug. Eric was patient as he watched him swallow, letting his hands curl around his own mug just to have something to do with his hands. "My names Hugo, by the way. Yours?"
Ah, finally! A name! Quickly, Eric did a run through of all the names of Death Eaters that he knew of. Hugo was not one of the ones that he knew, but he knew it was all too easy to fake a name. He did it often. "I'm Eric," he introduced himself, voice quiet, lips twitching into a half smirk, "Have you never seen people dance before, Hugo?"

The still cold brandy left an odd flavor on the tip of his tongue, one that persisted despite him constantly swallowing. He wondered if it had to do with it being of muggle make. Hugo's eyes scanned the still writhing crowd of club goers, smiling slightly to himself as he watched. Yeah. It definitely looked like it would be fun to join them. His attention flicked over to the muggle sitting beside him and an easy smile pulled at his lips. Maybe he'd even have company.
"I've seen people dance.. Just not like that." He laughed once and glanced back to Eric with the same easy grin. It was true enough as well. the only time Hugo could remember people dancing near this much was when they'd had a ball at Hogwarts. And this was nothing like the ball. It was much more entertaining. Hugo took another small drink of his brandy and started to scoot over to stand. "Want to show me how its done?"

Hugo kept swallowing and it was rather... distracting. But Eric did his best not to pay too much attention to it, instead looking back at the dancing crowd. It was made up almost entirely of males. A lot of them were attractive but some of them looked more on the creepy side. Eric was used to it, though. He'd been to enough bars and clubs to know that some creeps always ended up lurking. He sighed, shaking his head slightly and rubbing a hand over his face before yawning. He was tired and kind of bored but the thought of just going home alone, surrounded by guns, just waiting for someone to tell him to go "hunting." He'd killed before, as young as he was. Just twenty years old. It wasn't something he liked to talk about. Or think about. Death wasn't something he enjoyed.
"I've seen people dance.. Just not like that." The words made him look over again, brows raised curiously. And then Hugo was moving and Eric tensed, eyes locked onto his hands, prepared to reach for a knife if he pulled out a wand, but instead Hugo asked a question, one that brought a light blush across his cheeks. "Want to show me how its done?" The muggle blinked, taken aback, biting his lip. "I, uh, I'm really not a great dancer..." he mumbled which wasn't really true, he was a fine dancer, he just hadn't danced in a long time. But he started to get up, anyway, leaving his nearly empty mug on the table. "If you don't mind me stepping on your feet I guess I can show you..."

There was nothing about the muggle that should have caught the young wizard's attention- yet it did. Hugo tried to rationalize it by the fact he was nameless in the muggle world and just about anyone attractive that didn't know his name would catch his eye. It was a nice distraction, though, from the war that was being waged in his war. Something the Weasley so desperately wanted to be over.
The sweet blush on the muggle's face -Eric's face he reminded himself- brought a small smile on Hugo's lips as he began to stand. He held out his hand to the more slight male in invitation, smile brightening all the while. "Then we'll match. I'm sure I'll end up stepping on yours as well, you know... So shall we?" Nodding towards the fast moving dance floor, Hugo waited casually for the muggle to take his hand. || template designed by NEMO of adoxography ||
