Personality: If you ask his parents, they will tell you that Tate is stubborn and doesn't listen well. They will tell you that he is turning out to be a disgrace to the Simon family name. If you ask his schoolmates, they will probably tell you, at least if they were fellow Slytherins, that he is a god awful Snake and that he probably should have been sorted into a different house. Honestly, that's all pretty true. Tate is stubborn and doesn't like to do what others tell him to do if he thinks it's a bad idea. There are, of course, a few exceptions. For example, if Luke told him to do something, there is a 99% chance that Tate will do it because Luke is his best friend, his oldest friend, and he has no idea what he would do without the shorter lad. He'd also nothing like your typical Slytherin. He is very much a cupcake. Cuddly, giggly, always wanting to research new magical creatures (unicorns are his favorite, with horses being his favorite nonmagical creature). He doesn't like to fight but he does get jealous easily and will defend his friends without hesitation, even if that usually ends in him either getting beat up or hit with a hex of some sort. He's not like your typical wizard that always uses magic. He actually really likes Muggles and doing things the "Muggle way" so if he breaks something, for example, and it happens often because his long limbs and large feet make him rather clumsy, he will most likely try to fix it by hand at first.

Nearly everyone in the wizarding world has heard about the Simons. They go way back with the Death Eaters and Voldemort. In fact, they were some of the first Death Eaters! A horrible, nasty pureblood family that scorned half bloods, muggle borns, and, of course, muggles themselves. They did terrible things. They killed, they tortured. Anyone in the family that refused to join the Death Eaters were killed unless they managed to escape first... and then the Dark Lord fell. And then Tate was born. And the Death Eaters were coming back into power. Elizabeth and William were quick to join up again and quickly began pushing Tate to become a Death Eater as well except it didn't quite go as planned. You see, right from the start, Tate was different. He liked to laugh and wear flower crowns and was very interested in muggles and unicorns and rainbows and peace and joy and happiness. Basically everything his family was against. And it didn't help that he was quickly getting awfully close to Luke, who is now his best friend, in a way that was... more than just platonic friendship. The Simons weren't against same sex relationships but Luke's family was so the Simons quickly put a stop to the blossoming relationship around when the boys were fourteen. Knowing that Luke's family didn't approve, Tate began to hide his feelings. Or trying to, at least. To everyone else around them, it was bloody obvious that the boys had feelings for one another, but they would both kind-of-sort-of deny everything. They never outright said they didn't like each other, really, it was more of a "he's cute isn't he ha ha please stop asking questions" type of thing. But it was difficult. Very difficult. All Tate wanted to do was hold his best friend's hand and kiss his face and snuggle him at night when they slept. Especially towards the middle of the seventh year at Hogwarts when both of their families really started pushing the whole Death Eater thing.
