Camden watched over the faces as Emma spoke and nodded, keeping a trained smile on his lips. He watched her with a smile before turning to the group when she'd finished. The whole students seemed like they were probably put on the spot and Camden didn't blame them, he hated when people asked questions like that. Of course Finnigan elder bro had the ability to speak immediately, but he was glad when a few of the pureblooded siblings of professors spoke up. And that they were even there It meant a lot. "Thanks that'd be awesome, really" Digging into his bag Camden pulled out a scroll. "And I know this is a big thing, so we aren't going to force you to join or anything. " he shrugged, moving in his awkward walk towards a table near a fireplace and put down the ink, scroll, and quill. "But if you are interested, sign here! We'll get int touch... find the best time to yano..do this."
So he walked back to the masses, rubbing the back of his neck, glancing at Emma. "So yeah. Sign up, if you want to talk to us more, we'll wait around. But otherwise you guys are totally free. Just take care on the way back." he nodded, smiling and twitching nervously but overall happy that there was a turnout, and that people might want to take the chance to band together like this. A few more people trickled in and he nudged Emma slightly when Sean walked in. "I invited him.. hope it's okay." murmured quietly, recognizing the tension that was placed in the air.
But when everyone settled, Camden felt eyes on him and glanced awkwardly at Emma before his gawky form stood up. "erhm, Evening... again. yeah. so." Camden murmured, stepping a bit off to the side, and pacing a few steps while looking at the faces. "You all know me.. I'm Camden, the great. Or you know.. the king. Which-ever." The gryffindor exaggerated the word 'whichever' then he nodded towards Emma. "That's the queen, though for some odd reason prefers to be called.. Emma. But yeah." He flashed a grin and thumbs up to his crowd, despite the seriousness of this whole meeting, and his inability to public speak when he wasn't pissing off a death eater.
"First off." He coughed awkwardly, twitching a hand up to his head and rubbing the back of it. "Glad you all made it safely. Strangely seemed to be the perfect night for this.." He shrugged nonchalantly, not wanting to put too much worry into something. While most people assumed he didn't worry at all.
"Well, this meeting..." He let out a breath, "Is about us. We..." Camden looked to Emma, "called you guys here because well, we know what you've gone through. There's... been hell on earth here at hogwarts and outside of it." He scratched his ear as it turned bright red from being in the spotlight. As much as a clown that Camden was, this was bigger than his normal schpeals in class and he was trying to stay at least semi-serious for Emma's sake. Or his sake, because Emma might've hit him. Repeatedly, with a brick. Or a swift kick to the back of the head and take over the meeting. Cam wasn't sure which one he'd prefer at this point.
"The death eaters are our problem. And when we approached the order with our support... they sorta flipped shit.. well, understandably... sorta. We left the castle like a couple of numbskulls, but it was worth it at the time." Camden rambled slightly, ticking off points in his head and furrowing his brow. "because it meant we could possibly make a difference. You know? But they were, get this, afraid of us getting hurt." Cam let out a snort of sorts.. "And I think it's a bit of bullshit. As did Emma, of course in different terms because she's far more proper than the potty mouth.." points to his own chest. "but anyway, we're tortured daily, and at more of a risk than the elders would really care to acknowledge." Or what they couldn't afford to think about.
"So why don't we leave? Well. That's a great question inner camden." He murmured- glancing off to the side, nearly done with his little speech, "Because it's our school, and the fact that we're here while the muggleborns who were chased out are forced to live muggle lives without instruction..." He looked back to the people, shuffling on his feet, unable to stand still. "So we owe it to them to protect what once was. Band together... yano? Take care of eachother. Maybe even learn a few things while we're at it.." He nodded seriously, before glancing at Emma. "Anything to add, your highness?" Camden wanted to be early for the meeting. Show up, get things set up, have a short conversation with Emma, even though they'd planned the meeting to a T before (much to his dismay), Cam was a more go with the flow type of person. Either way, he couldn't because, like usual, he was in detention. He had dropped a book and picked it up in one of his classes which was deemed 'too loud' and 'disruptive'... and then Camden opened his mouth. Which was never a good idea. So the torture session of detention where he got beat around a bit, was shut down early. For a reason, he really wasn't sure. But as Camden was walking towards the ROR, he felt a black eye appearing over his left eye from the usual punishments, and a deep cut in his arm from the lines he did. Whoever the fuck developed those quills were a masochist, he discovered, pulling his sleeve down over the words etched into his skin i shall not talk out of turn.. When the professor told him what to write, the gryffindor snorted, like a few lines is going to change that about him.
Camden supposed that the meeting tonight was a blessing. He could put humor on his facade all he wanted, but this was a chance for them to really make a difference. They needed to take back what was theirs. Everyone that they'd invited got stomped on and destroyed in some way or another by the school's assholery. And cam wanted to change that and since the Order wasn't taking students.... he wanted to make one of his own. He walked into the ROR and smiled. "Evening! Sorry I'm late." Bruising on his face was nothing new, so he suspected nobody would say anything as he plopped down next to Emma. He looked around the room, ticking off the names in his head, they still had a few more people that needed to arrive.
