COME LITTLE LIGHT come away to the darkness There wasn't a day go by that Tobias Warrington didn't regret breaking up with Emma Finnigan... the one and only girl that he had ever remotely loved. At the time the idea of commitment to someone else had scared the hell out of him and he had decided to take the easy way out and send the poor girl an owl... with no real explination as to why he was breaking up with her. Of course he couldn't tell her it was because he was falling in love... she would think he was a complete idiot. He shook the thoughts from his mind as he headed towards the death day party with a bottle of his fathers best whiskey that he had stolen from the liquor cabinet last time he had visited his parents.
He was feeling adventurous as he opened the bottle of whiskey and took a swig neat from the bottle and smirked, darn that stuff was certainly good. His eyes drifted around the crowds of people and he suddenly spotted her... the girl of his dreams and before he knew it he was heading on over to speak to her. ` EMMA FINNIGAN :  it wasn't too long ago that she had received a owl from her boyfriend at the time, tobias warrington. she had expected the owl to be something about the summer that was coming up, how they would either keep in contact or do their best to see one another. instead, it had been a owl that only said 'i'm breaking up with you, emma'. that was all it said. no explanation, no nothing. to say that summer was horrible was an understatement for her. however, she eventually found herself through achieving high grades in her classes. she had recently received a owl about joining a group called the guardians of hogwarts. emma had managed to stay out of a relationship since the last one had left a sour taste in her mouth for boys. the two had known each other for the longest time and it made no sense to her as to why he broke up with her over one sentence written with a quill on a piece of paper. if anything positive came out of the breakup, his brother had reached out to her. his brother was someone that she hadn't gotten along with right away, but once the breakup happened, he had became her best friend. in fact, he had became like a brother to her despite the age difference between the two. a brother that would not approve of her sneaking out with a good amount of students to the room of requirement. the party had been staged as celebrating the deaths of the ghosts in the castle though was really a party for those that wanted a break from all the losses suffered. one loss that emma had been dealing with, was the loss of her youngest sister, sophia. she had been murdered on the grounds for going out after curfew. the party was a chance to think about something else for the time being than the death of her sister or wanting to punch a death eater in the face. in fact, she had someone else walk up to her. someone who she had avoided since that letter that he had sent to her. emma had been tempted to slap him across the face before though hesitated for the time being. he came up to her and gave a hesitant hello to her. emma could only glare at him and said, "after all this time, you just say hey?" her voice sounded venomous. it was crazy to think that she had thought that they would have lasted longer than they did. boy, was she wrong. she had been standing against the wall alone, looking for anyone that she felt like talking to. however, there was no one yet. certainly, tobias was not one of them either.

COME LITTLE LIGHT come away to the darkness Toby had known from the moment the word 'hey' left his lips that it was a mistake to be so casual with it. What he had done to Emma had really hurt her and he could see that... he had always been able to see it from the moment that he saw her right after she'd gotten the letter. He was screaming at himself inside his mind and he let out a sigh after she replied with a snappy remark... she was mad, of course she was. He ran a hand through his hair before looking at him again. "Emma... I know what I did was cowardly... nobody deserves what I did to you" he said with regret in his voice.
It was clear from his facial expressions that he really was truly sorry for what he had done but he didn't have the first clue about what he could really do to make emends at this point. He would give his left arm to just have one more day with her like the old days... like they had been before. Everything had been going so well before he screwed it up with that stupid letter. He took another swig of his whiskey before offering the bottle to Emma. "Would you like a drink?" he asked her. | WORDS: xxx SHORT NOTES |

` EMMA FINNIGAN : their relationship hadn't been the most perfect one since she did believe that she was right when it came to just about anything. it was the ravenclaw in her that made her believe that she was right about everything. however, their relationship hadn't shown signs of ending as it did. in fact, the state of their relationship looked pretty good, at least to her. she had wondered that summer what she had done though after talking to several friends and making a new friend in xander, she no longer put that blame on herself. emma knew she had been loyal to toby and had done nothing to drive him away. whatever had came to his mind, he had decided on his own. she would have respected the decision, had he done it in person. instead, he took the coward's way out and sent a owl with a letter attached to it with one sentence. that act alone proved why he was sorted into slytherin. emma had been warned about slytherins before, of course by her parents. not all slytherins were terrible, but a good amount took advantage of others. they weren't the bravest bunch of people either. she had thought different of toby which was why she had even started dating him. however, she had been fooled to believe that he was different. it was a shame, really. his voice had regret in it, of course. he admitted what he had done was cowardly. she just scoffed, thinking that he had a lot to do to even make up for what he had done. emma had crossed her arms, her eyes wandering, looking for someone else to find. someone else to talk to that was more likable. then she turned her attention back to him when he asked, if she wanted a drink. he offered the bottle of whiskey to her and she said, "sure." her tone was calm, surprisingly though she had a plan in mind when he had offered her the bottle. emma grabbed the bottle from him and didn't even take a drink from the bottle. instead, she walked away with it, going to the nearest garbage can which wasn't too far. she dumped the bottle into the trash can, letting him watch the contents of the bottle go down into the black bag. then she walked back over to him and handed him the bottle. she smirked and said, "thanks for that drink." emma wasn't typically a bitch, but she was still pretty scorned over what he had done.

COME LITTLE LIGHT come away to the darkness As Tobias stood there so many things were going through his head... he had made so many bad choices in terms of his relationship with Emma and all he wanted to do was put it all right. Of course he knew that the possibility of that was getting slimmer by the second. He really hadn't expected her to accept the drink, so when she took the bottle and headed for the trash can his eyes widened a bit. "No... em don't... what are you doing?!" he said in a slight state of panic.
That bottle of booze hadn't been cheap and it wasn't even his alcohol... it was his fathers. Of course he knew eventually he would have been found out but now he didn't even have the luxury of saying he'd gotten a nice drink out of it. He accepted the bottle back and laughed a little nervously. "Well thanks Em, was thinking of giving up the booze anyways" he said and then shrugged a little and threw the bottle in the bin. | WORDS: xxx I am so sorry for taking so long! please don't hate me! |

` EMMA FINNIGAN : if a different approach was taken with their breakup, perhaps they would have given it another try. perhaps she would have taken a drink instead of dumping the bottle down into the bin. whoever had to change the bin was going to smell nothing, but alcohol. then again, wizards and witches didn't really need to use their hands to clean. everything between the two had been so much better than it was currently. she had handed the bottle back to him and said, "oh don't be so nervous, your father has been things to focus on than a stolen bottle of alcohol." when the two had been dating, she knew that he would sneak alcohol from his father's own supply. she knew because he had snuck one into the castle and shared it with her in the past. she also knew how the warrington family was, how they were expected to be death eaters when they turned seventeen. cassius and pansy were both popular names thrown around. emma only knew tobias and alixander well though imagined the rest of the family followed in the footsteps of their parents. the only one that didn't was xander. tobias was a mixed bag since he had dated her though she was positive that he hadn't gotten a dark mark yet. she asked, "you don't have any girls to talk to?" it bothered her to even think of another girl with him though she would have preferred him talking to someone else than her. it just would've irked her, if he was kissing another girl in her sight. emma folded her arms, waiting for him to walk away or say something.
