Just keep swimmin' (OPEN)

Silence filled the halls so far. People seemed to be laid back for a day which was either a good thing or a very bad thing. Either way it made Paige uncomfortable and feeling the need to get outside of the castle. The mornings were always so quiet it even made Paige wonder if the death eaters actually sleep at night. Paige has always been an early bird, ever since the nightmares it just was a given. The girl was wearing sweatpants and a tanktop with sneakers because as every morning she went for a run on the grounds. It kept her body in perfect shape and even in dark times a good body is needed.

Paige had to be the fittest of them all and show everyone how strong she is. Paige walked out of the castle, her mind set on a run to the quidditch stadium, some benching and then back to the castle. The young girl couldn’t wait for the exams and owls to be finished and go out there in the big bad world fighting crime. She could care less of what her family wanted, all she wanted was to show the world that she is not like everyone else.

Family names shouldn’t mean a thing, it’s the person who decides what they can and can’t do. Paige yawned and started her run, she made her way over to the stadium but decided to take a detour by going to the lake. Paige never went to the dark lake because it basically creeped her out. Why would anyone have those things living in that lake.. she would exterminate all of them. After all this is a school and not some prison. Paige frowned though when she saw splashes.

It could have been a mermaid but such an ugly thing wouldn’t show her face that easily. No when she looked closer she noticed it was a student girl. She saw her around from time to time but she never actually spoke to her. After all Paige had been going through a depression for three years and now finally was getting over herself. She had matt to thank for that, which was quite odd because he was totally not the best friend she could think of and yet he is.

Paige sighed and took a sprint towards the lake making a huge dive into the water. She swam up to the girl and held her tight around her waist. “ Stop it, you make us both drown. Just stay calm and hold on tight. “ she sighed as Paige tried to swim up to shore with the girl in her arms. It wasn’t very easy and Paige isn’t used to saving people from drowning.. who on earth would go on a dive here anyways? Paige took some deep breathes as she pulled herself and the girl up to shore.

“ you okay?”

Paige did not judge people on how they look or whether they have any content in their head or not but what idiot would jump in the lake completely dressed and drown in panic? No one with sanity for sure. Paige sighed as she looked at her clothes.. they were soaking wet and the water was dripping down from her hair. Paige looked at the girl who seemed to have taken a rest in the grass after her life has been saved. The Slytherin had no time for these jokes and with this weather it wasn’t really smart to jump in a lake.



The girl spoke and it made only the fire in the girl’s stomach light up. Was she that stupid to think that she would make it out there alive with flailing like some fish? If she were a fish at least she would know how to save herself. Paige sat down in the grass next to her and sighed. She should have never used this route to the stadium… at least she wasn’t having issues with some suicidal nutcase. Paige tried to kill herself tons of times and she now realized how damn stupid she was.



“ Right the next time I will let you drown in that lake. Or maybe the giant squid likes a new meal. “ she sighed and curled up like a ball. Maybe she wasn’t the white knight this girl hoped for, though she surely is pale enough for it. Paige rested her head on her arms which were curled around her legs as she looked at the young girl laying there in the grass. She observed her a bit noticing she was indeed very pretty but Paige could have sworn she saw her somewhere else.. or know her from some place else.



It just didn’t pop up in her mind. Paige had seen many students over the years, some even in Ireland because of those awesome death eater meetings and why not let’s bring our child along too. Paige looked away and gave it another sigh as she thought of how she would miss a whole day of her work out now. Paige hated how ungrateful people can be when their lives were saved, like they don’t know how many there were lost already.



The worst thing in all of this is that the girl she saved looked a lot like the one Paige lost. But Paige wasn’t going to think of that, she couldn’t allow herself to do so. Paige looked at the lake hearing no movements yet, but the girl was breathing so she was at least alive. Paige grabbed her wand and used it to start a small fire that should be able to warm them up. Paige looked at the flames while waiting for the other girl to make a move. “ You know you could have gotten yourself killed in there right? “
