Ever since Alastair took up arms with the other muggles that knew of the magical world, he thought they should have become more a team. It was all well and dandy to call themselves a group but none of that would matter if they didn't trust each other to have their backs. Not to mention how would they cover someone's weak spot if they never bothered to learn what it was.
So with that in mind he'd taken upon himself to create a situation where they could all get to know one another. He'd taken out his old grill and waited till the weather was going to turn warm before sending out all the invites to the hunters he knew about adding a small "guests welcome" at the bottom of the paper. Nothing fancy about it, but better than if he'd just sent text messages. There was something always satisfying about sending physical letters.
Alastair had woken up the morning of his BBQ to a shining sun and the promise of the weather reaching low 70s (F). The older man gave a soft smile and immediately went to work setting up his back yard, sending his son off to see friends. Outside he'd set up a table along with his grill, the other food sitting in the fridge where he'd made it last night.
The Boggsworth's house was a fairly unremarkable two story brickwork cottage sitting on enough land that they could practice their shooting and no one would be the wiser. Down a knoll was a row of targets at varying heights and distances for bow and knife practice. They'd have to go further in order to shoot guns.
Alastair was flipping burgers on the grill on his stone patio behind his house in a dark blue jumper and jeans when a deep bark drew his attention to the drive. Already two of his dogs (Frank and Lola) were sitting at alert beside the table he'd set up, and Kali was already standing at the gate before he'd done so much as set down a spatula. Alastair brushed his hands against his jumper and followed his dogs around the house to the gate, letting out one sharp whistle through his teeth to tell them to sit, and waved to whichever hunter had shown up first.
