delphine wasn’t one to truly ever regret anything in life. she did everything as best as she could and never left something alone until she was perfectly satisfied with it. from her youngest age, she’d been a perfectionist. from her sunflower dress at her aunt’s wedding to every single homework she’d ever handed in, delphine had the satisfaction of knowing that had done everything in her life perfectly. well, in her opinion, it had been. the only stain on her record had appeared after her parents’ death, after the young girl that she had been had realised that she’d never been grateful enough. whenever she closed her eyes, she could still see her mother’s approving and adoring smile as she’d watched her daughter smoothing down her own blouse, ready to go to her very first play-date. of course, delphine had known that her parents had loved her, but with their death had come the guilt of thinking that she had never done enough to prove to them that she had loved them just as much. in the first few months, she’d been plagued with nightmares during which she remembered those times when she’d been an evil little brat to them as being exponentially worse. in those same months, she’d found herself hating the two of them for not leaving her enough time to fix things. it drove her completely insane and, soon, it had been one of the reasons oto make herself focus on anything other but their death. to everyone, she was clearly obsessed with ignoring her pain. to her, however, it felt more life she was doing what they would have wanted her to do. she was soldiering on, focusing on what was most important. there had been absolutely nothing natural about her parents’ passing. and so, just like with how unnatural it had been, delphine’s reaction had been accordingly unnatural. the more she was told by her relatives and her friends that she needed to grieve, the more she refused to lose focus and didn’t care how crazy it made her seem. people withdrew from her just as she withdrew from her, just as she withdrew from anything that was too closely related to them. she was happy, in a way, to be alone. it was easier to focus when she was by herself. however, years after the tragedy had come and passed. years after she’d seen her parents’ broken bodies lying on the carpet of the living room, she was still that little girl, coming home after a day of recreational reading at the local library. she was still that little girl, leading the way for hr younger brother into their home. she was still that little girl, screaming and wrapping her body around her brother to shield him from the horrors lying in their living room, under the countless family pictures. she was still that little girl, her face seemingly permanently stained with tear tracks as she watched THEM being carried away. after all these years, she was still standing in that living room, breathless. the ravenclaw’s hand shook as she lifted her glass and sipped some juice. she carefully set it back down on the table. “roughly being the key word in that statement, might i add,” she answered, a smirk creeping on her lips. “in any case, excuse me for being punctual and able to know exactly when i can contact someone to tell them about important things,” delphine continued, shrugging her shoulders. she then rolled her eyes, closing the daily prophet and looking at him. “you’re even worse than my mother,” she said, before she could bite her tongue. “… was,” she quietly added, rising from her bench and gathering her things. tag , LOCRYN KITTO ROSDEWwords , six two oh. outfit , click menotes, i feel like sarcasm is going to be their main way to talk to each other, ehe c:

as delphine entered the realm of magical plants, she couldn’t help but feel impressed, and even slightly overwhelmed, by the countless shelves that filled the large room. hundreds of different colors coming from the flowers and plants on the shelves overpowered her eyes. her nose was drowned in the hundreds of different smells coming from those same flowers and plants. the ravenclaw couldn’t quite believe the sheer number of them that the store held. as she started browsing through the row, running her fingertips against the wooden shelves, she wondered what some of these could be used for. she recognized some of the names – bezoar, mandrake leaf and root – but others were completely obscure to her. throughout her years at hogwarts, she’d felt as though she’d learned so much. however, she realized that there was more that was unknown than know to her when it came to herbology. lost in her daydreams of even greater knowledge than she had already acquired, delphine barely heard the store-owner’s greeting. she was wondering just how many uses each of the plants had, what their characteristics were, even. it was only when she turned to continue her browsing that she finally acknowledged the woman’s presence. the words that she’d spoken then registered in her mind and the teenager offered her a small smile. “i, um…” she started, still dazed from her daydream. “well, i came her to resupply,” she finally said, trying as hard as she could to keep her curiosity in check. “it’s a nice shop you have here,” the girl complimented, motioning around herself. “do you grow some of these yourself?” delphine asked, finally giving in to her curiosity. apart from what she’d learned at school, there truly wasn’t much she knew about being a herbologist or what it implied in general and so she was curious to learn more. tag , @eleanor words , three oh eight. outfit , click menotes, della says: nice looking store :3

there was truly little free time for the seventeen-year-old ravenclaw these days. even though the sixth and seventh year at hogwarts were meant for the students to only take the classes they were interested in, delphine had made a pact with herself that she’d take as many as she could handle. even though she was at the top of her class, that kind of position wasn’t achieved by wandering off in the castle and doing whatever she wanted. she envied those who did, who could wander the hallways of the school and discover all of its little secrets that the girl had yet to discover, and that she probably never would. most of her free time was spent in the library, working, studying, catching up on homework because, as much as she would have wanted the opposite to be true, it was piling up faster than she could do it all. delphine was overwhelmed, to say the least, and this was easily noticeable by the pile of books she seemed to always be carrying around with her whenever she wasn’t headed to class. she carried them precariously in her arms, hoping that she didn’t miss a step or trip over something. with all the pieces of parchment that she had stuck in between the pages, she doubted that the result of her tripping would have been a mess that she wanted, or even had the time to clean up. still, she walked the hallways as fast as she could, barely looking where she was going. she relied on others to look where they were going so that she didn’t have to do the same for herself. even though she had to admit that it wasn’t the best idea, most of the time, it worked. that day, however, was apparently not one of those times. rounding a corner in the direction of the library, della couldn’t help but run right into someone, her books knocked to the ground along with the student. “damn,” she muttered under her breath, looking down at the person. she crouched then realized who it was. “oh talullah! are you alright?” she asked. she looked down at the books sprawled across the floor, sighing as she realized that her pile of homework would have to wait, at least until she’d repared her mistake. delphine gave talullah a small smile and offered her her hand. tag , TALLULAH LUNA THISTLEBROOKEwords , three nine seven. outfit , click menotes, so short :c but i really wanted to reply before going to school. don’t feel rushed in replying if you don’t have the time, remz :3

mornings were always the same for delphine. she’d wake up in her bed in the ravenclaw tower, go through her little morning routine and head straight for the great hall for breakfast. she wasn’t one of those who stayed up late in the night and woke up barely in time for her classes. she liked sitting at her regular spot at her house table, grab a couple of slices of toasted bread and calmly read the daily prophet before heading to whatever classes she had during that day. and that morning wasn’t any different. she sat at the ravenclaw table in the great hall among the few other students who had woken up early, a toast in her hand and the daily prophet lying on the wooden table in front of her. over the years of practicing the exact same routine every day, the girl had gotten so used to it that it was almost impossible for her to stray from it, or to make her stray from it in fact. she was almost like a ghost to everybody every single morning. she went unnoticed as she walked the halls of the castle, almost invisible even. that didn’t have anything to do with it, however. people who knew her knew better than to disturb her in her routine. when delphine had decided to cut everything that was not school-related from her life, it had included her social life at the school. believe it or not, she’d been quite the social butterfly before half of her little family had been taken away from her. even though she could have sometimes been perceived as being a perfectionist and a smart ass, she’d been a truly kind and gentle soul. but, along with her family, that part of delphine had forever been ripped away from her. the cold that had replaced the warmth in her soul had scared more than one away from her, and few remained by her side, helping her through the constant crisis that had become her life, made so by her own decision. she was broken and few were trying to mend her. the few who stuck, though, were always there for her, and it seemed that they were the only ones who could break delphine’s routine. locryn, a hufflepuff boy of her age, had that talent. when she felt a weight settle next to her on the bench of the ravenclaw table, delphine barely even looked up, seeing as she had a feeling that it would be him. just to confirm it, though, she glanced at him. one could never be too careful, these days. she wouldn’t have wanted to say the wrong thing to the wrong person. “morning, locryn.” she answered in her quiet voice, her chin resting in her palm as she turned her head to look up at him. she was bending slightly forward over the table and her elbow rested on top of it. “i’m pretty sure you know the answer to the first part since you seem to have memorized my schedule,” she started, turning her head back to the daily prophet. “as for the second part, i’m pretty sure that if i don’t take it, you’ll force it on me.” tag , LOCRYN KITTO ROSDEWwords , five three eight. outfit , click menotes, you might have guessed that della’s not going to be all smiles right now, aha. don’t worry, she knows locryn means well and she does too :3

always focusing on her classes and, when she wasn’t attending those, on her homework meant that delphine had very little room for any kind of free time to do whatever she wanted. her life nowadays basically came down to waking up in the morning, going to class, seeing how her sister was doing, and sleeping. sure, there was the occasional social encounter with “friends”, if she could even call them that, at this point. however, social gatherings for delphine were at their lowest and, no matter what others thought, the truth was that she wasn’t exactly happy this way. this way of life did succeed in doing what she’d been trying to do for the past four years, which was to keep her mind off of certain things, but it was killing part of her to see the year that she should have been getting the most involved in school life go by without any involvement happening on her part. however, it was the sacrifice she had chosen to make in order to keep her sanity. merlin knew that if she hadn’t made it, she would have been much less better off. still, the girl had to admit that it wasn’t a complete sacrifice. she still got to do what she liked best, which was to read all day long about all kinds of things. she felt more fulfilled and accomplished as a witch than she ever had since she’d first set foot in the school. she was at the top of her class and head girl, which was pretty much everything she’d ever wanted, except for the unbroken family part of it. delphine looked up from the ground with that thought and bit her bottom lip. change the kind of pain, from emotional, to physical. change your train of thought. then, all would be well. she’d developed the process after the last meltdown she’d had over the summer while visiting her parents’ grave. she’d refused to go until then, and choosing to go along with her grandparents and her sister on that day probably had been the worst idea she’d ever had. however, it did allow her to do this. it allowed her to put on her mask whenever she wanted to and to not look like a complete fool in public. as she made her way down diagon alley, she realized just how much she loved her little trips to this place. even though every single store in this magical marketplace held memories of her parents, she couldn’t help but adore the countless of smells that filled this place. well, except those that came from eeylops owl emporium. she quickly hurried along whenever she passed it. on that day, she had a particular store in mind that she wanted to visit, however. she finally reached regnum magicis plantis and entered the store. tag , @eleanor words , four seven four. outfit , click menotes, here goes nothing. i’m gonna need some guidance in this on your part, waters c:

i think that they'd either get along, or just ignore each other. della is a year older than nimrodel and pretty reserved ever since her parents' death. she's been focusing on her studies with everything that she has and not doing much anything else. they're kind of the same because of the fact that they wear a mask but are kind at heart. so, what do you think?

della is very much involved in her classes. she does everything she can to get the best grades possible, and that might mean harrassing her teachers with questions, sometimes. since she's taking alchemy, i can see the two of them interacting in that context.

study buddies? i don't know, they're in the same house and she's a year younger than her. emma is more in your face than della, though. but della would definitely admire emma's ferocity and her not giving a care in the world what people think of her.

della hasn't always been the cold, distant, ambitious freak that she is today. her parents' death changed her for the worst. before, she was just your regular ravenclaw who loved studying and sitting by a window with a really good book. since owen fled from hogwarts when it was taken by the death eaters, i'd really like it if they had been friends before all of it went down. she really needs people who knew her before that happened because right now she's just alone in her own little world. she'd even be willing to help owen out with his magic :3

della loves rose. period. it's as simple as that. i mean, to make the history of magic class actually interesting. WOW. plus, della is an avid student always wanting to learn more. she needs it to survive and to not go ballistic on everyone. i'm thinking these two would have a strong teacher/student relationship.

he loves to read. that's enough said. books are della's life basically, because it is truly the only thing she can think about. i don't know how much she'd appreciate his character in other aspects of his life, though.

mhm, this is interesting because these two have a lot in common. della lost her parents to the death eaters not so long ago and she's been pulling away from the world because she can't let herself feel it before she can do something about it. i guess they're different in that way, but della would definitely understand at least part of paige's pain.

DELLA & MATHISso these two don't have a whole lot in common, in fact. he's a happy-go-lucky kind of guy while she's mostly cold and really reserved around pretty much anybody. but he seems like such a nice guy, i couldn't help but throw della out there for some plotting. um, i was thinking something along the lines of acquaintances/friendish? DELLA & HUGOso i know you mention in the plotter that hugo doesn't do well with new faces, but i don't see della being in the hospital wing too often for her to be a familiar face. let me just say that i have a feeling they could get along, even if it's just as acquaintances, barely friends even. della could end up in the infirmary for some minor injury that she got while practicing a spell or something. i also like the fact that he seems to enjoy herbology. even though she refuses to admit she has a green thumb, she likes herbology a lot. they could probably have an encounter in the greenhouses or something  s'all i have for now

DELLA & TALULLAHthis would be totally awesome. della's not that much in someone's face though, but she'd definitely make some comment behind the irrationality behind bullying or something along those lines in smartassness. i'm thinking that they could probably connect on the losing someone part, since della lost both of her parents to the death eaters. as for threads, i was thinking of replying to the open one you have with her in moaning myrtle's bathroom, if that's fine with you :3 DELLA & ZIGGYit's already making me smile, aha. i can totally see it happening. she'd just get so frustrated with him like "how can someone as stupid as you even hold a conversation?" i can see her getting more mellow with him after a while, though. like getting used to him or something. i think it's a good idea :3 DELLA & SCORPIUSthat sounds pretty cool. i'm guessing they'd get along very well then. also, she doesn't exactly have an allegiance as of now. but i don't see her siding with the death eaters because of her parents' death. unless her sister was in some sort of danger. DELLA & SHIZANDRAwhen you put it like that, i don't know exactly. della is really just a super smart chick. she's the most hard-working, intelligent person you'll meet. i also have her lined up to be the next head girl, but i don't know. it's up to you, really. if she's not in the slugclub, this could still work with schizandra being a teacher and della being a student, aha. they could still interact somehow

it might be a little hard for della to have any of those really. she doesn’t truly mean to be, but sometimes she can come off as a bit harsh and cold. people look at her and they’ll most likely say something like “jeez, do you need a blanket? you sound like you’re going through hypothermia with all that cold.” still, i don’t see my poor little delphine being completely friendless either. i mean, everybody has those few people who know what you’re truly like and can put up with the rough exterior that you’re putting on for others. i’m guessing the people who will fall under this category will mostly be the people who knew her before her parents were killed off by death eaters, what with her father being a traitor to his blood and her mother being a muggle. she doesn’t talk about it much because she can’t bring herself to grieve. however, deep down inside, she’s in pain. her friends would understand that and just try to be with her.
ENEMIES
enemies is a really broad word, if you think about it. it can refer to someone you dislike or someone you absolutely hate. when it comes to hating, della can’t be bothered with it as much right now. she’s definitely too busy with classes and ignoring her parents’ almost four-year-old death. you might hate della, but it will be totally one sided. dislikes are different, however. a lot of people might dislike her for her cold exterior. she tries not to judge people, but sometimes she also can’t help thinking that some of them are just plain stupid. she’d never say it out loud, but you might catch her rolling her eyes when hearing something that she thinks is just way too idiotic to her taste.
LOVERS
this pretty much also applies to the hating rule. dating is the last thing on della’s mind as of right now. she can’t be bothered with looking for signs that a boy might like her, or anything along those lines. i’m not saying that it is completely off limits. if you think that your character might be up for putting up with della’s completely oblivious ways, be my guest! however, be warned that this kind of plot might take a while. also, flings could happen. she’s a teenager, for god’s sake.
FAMILY
this category has gotten very small ever since her parents died. della and her younger sister live with their grandparents when they’re not attending hogwarts. it might not be obvious to everyone who sees her interact with her little sister, seeing as the two mostly keep to themselves. but touch a single hair on della’s sister’s beautiful head, and i swear to god the moment she kicks your ass will be more awesome than when molly weasley kicked bellatrix’s butt. i’m also open to extended family of some kind.

DELLA AND TALLULAH i can definitely see them being friends. they're in the same house and all. della is not one to judge people either. she's mostly kind, even though she might sometimes get kind of snappy at someone for being a total dumbass. she tries keeping it to a minimum as much as she can. della is really all about hard work and succeeding and i have a feeling that maybe tallulah could open her eyes on other important life stuff. DELLA AND ZIGGY they're in the same year and they probably share some classes. she's mostly the girl at the front of the class rolling her eyes at stupid questions because she just wants the lesson to move forward. but she means well, i swear to god! anyway, um, i don't exactly how they would be involved, but they're definitely at least acquaintances, right? DELLA AND SCORPIUS well, let me just tell you right now that she loves DADA. she'd definitely be one of his best students. however, as far as relationships go, i don't have much anything else, really. she'd be walking down the hallway, spotting him, and blasting him with questions about the next homework, maybe. even though it would be due in three weeks. yup DELLA AND SCHIZANDRA okay, i have a feeling this would be hilarious. della is definitely more shy than anything else when compared to schizandra. if della's on the slug club, it would be totally hilarious to see them interact. della would be overwhelmed by her personality, definitely. let me know if you have ideas with your other characters.
