in her sixth year, mikah failed her apparition test. that wasn't a piece of information that she often shared with people. heck, she was good at magic, she worked hard, got a decent number of owls and newts. not auror-material, but good enough to pursue just about everything else if her quidditch career hadn't taken off. apparition, though, was something that had given her a bit of trouble back in her sixth year.
she was supposed to apparate to meet a friend of hers in london. however, after the unpleasant sensation of going through a tube, she appeared in a... bar?
mikah had no idea how she'd ended up here. didn't she have to have been here before? or to be able to imagine it? the lack of concentration on her part was probably the reason she arrived here--she had plenty on her mind--and she had a feeling that she wasn't anywhere near where she was supposed to be. she took a slight, confused, look around the bar. it was a wizard bar, for sure--but it didn't look safe. it didn't seem safe. she just had a bad feeling that she couldn't justify. so she followed her instincts. instead of asking anyone about where she was, she moved to the front entrance, the door that will lead her out of here. once she gets out, she'll figure things out.
as she made her way towards the door, though, a firm hand took ahold of her arm. "leaving so soon?" a raspy voice said. she turned around, alarmed by the firm grip on her. "yes. I apparated to the wrong place, accidentally," she said with a slight smile. her heart beat was sped up; she was a bit scared. the man's hand was still on her arm, and though she took a few steps back to break free, his grip just got tighter. he was drunk, she could tell. but at this particular bar... she doubt that anyone would be able to help her. she was alone.

mikah had somewhat given up on waiting for a healer, and then somewhat given up on healing herself. she sat there helplessly until an older man came by, a healer she guessed, and made a remark about how the spell would not work. mikah felt her cheeks flush in embarrassment, but she smiled back. "can't blame me for trying. i've been waiting out here for almost an hour." there was no annoyance in her tone, only politeness and honesty. she understood that st. mungos was understaffed, and most of the hospital was destroyed--she herself was present during the battle. still, she was not feeling well at all, and her arm looked awful. honestly, she was surprised that she was still conscious. she peered down at her arm again before standing up to follow the doctor. a wave of nausea came over her--though she wasn't quite sure if it was because of seeing the bone in her arm out of place, the pain and the sudden movement, or the blood loss. holding her arm to her chest gingerly, mikah slowly followed the healer to the examination room, silently glad that the healer did not walk too fast. as they entered room 2, a quick look around told her that it'd been half-destroyed by the battle. using her uninjured arm, mikah helped herself onto the examination table swiftly. quidditch injuries, doctors visits... she's been through this before. "i got hit by a bludger. hard. and i'm pretty sure the bone is not supposed to be sticking out like this," she told the doctor calmly. as calmly as she can, anyways. thing is, she'd been so calm back in the waiting room, but now that she was with the healer, she was starting to panic. the injury was the worst she'd had in a while, and she hoped that it wasn't going to affect her ability to play. then there was the pain... god, it hurts. Mikah winced as she poked at her injured arm. Stupid decision – it only started hurting more. She’d gotten hit by a bludger during early morning practice with a teammate, and, not quite sure what to do, Mikah decided to apparate to St. Mungos. Probably a stupid decision, since it was stupid to move a broken arm. Actually, it looked worse than just a broken arm… she’d broken bones before, but nothing quite as bad as what she is seeing in front of her. To her, it seems that – well, part of her bone seemed to be actually coming out of her skin. And that’s a bit terrifying. She’s had her share of injuries, but… nothing like this. Asides from the sharp pain that she was feeling in her arm and the slight dizziness, Mikah was, well, for the most part, okay. Okay enough that when a frantic mother was carrying her sick baby into the waiting room, Mikah let her go first and continued waiting. She’s been waiting for a little more than an hour now. One would think that St. Mungos is more adequately staffed, but apparently not… Mikah took out her wand, and pointed it at the fracture, “brackium emendo,” she said. Nothing happened – the same result as the last couple times she did it. She really needed a healer to take a look at this… the seeker sighed, leaned back into the chair, and closed her eyes… hoping that the pain will stop soon and that someone will come out and be able to take a look at her arm.
NOTES: a bit after the st. mungos battle?

I love this! can definitely see them being close back in hogwarts, midnight study sessions and all that hehe. c: friends it is, and i'd love a thread with them if you're up for it!

yes! mikah was definitely super friendly back at hogwarts, and she doesn't discriminate against houses, so chances are, they'd be friends back then too! i can definitely see mikah visiting milagros at some of her shows now that she's back in England.

when I read your plotter I was like 'awh man, he hates harry' xD but YES i'd love for them to be friends. : D al is definitely the odd ball in the family, and he's not huge into the limelight and the attention, so he prefers to stay low key. and yeah, sure, occasionally meeting up is fine with me!!
that sounds great! they would've met... through the order? or did william teach back when al was in hogwarts as well? i'm fine with either ^^, just clarifying. tea and books sound great, and maybe al could help with the muggleborn railroad too? since he's a former auror in training and everything, he'd probably be trying to help out some muggleborns too by teaching them magic, or whatever.
she definitely would not know that dia has joined the death eater league! but being close in age and having the same former house means that yeah, they would probably be friends. i would love a thread with the two of them catching up and finding out... xD idk if she'd really lash out at him, but i think there's definitely some drama there we can play with. 
awhh zach sounds awesome, and i loveee house, so. xDD they can be friends, and al will most definitely help him out with saving things from st. mungos.  we can say they met after the battle? or have a thread of them during its aftermath? whatever works!
yes, she still plays! and i can see her being one of his patients, yup!

I am kind of already happy with what we've got; introducing two other schools would actually make a lot of things more complicated, since they are at different places. Unless you plan on bringing them all to England. Plotting-wise, a Beauxbatons student would be very unlikely to interact with a Hogwarts student, Durmstrang students would probably not interact with Hogwarts students, etc etc. And, then there's the problem of having too many of one, or none of one. Then it leads to people ignoring their characters and plots will be too spread out between those three places (not to mention the "adult" version of Wizarding France and Wizarding Norway (or whatever Durmstrang is actually located).) Anyways, it's ultimately up to you guys, but while it sounds "fun," it could really just lead up to a whole lot of complicated-ness. If you really think about it, too, we have a LOT of events, which are supposed to satisfy the many different groups. It's great--but would the introduction of even MORE groups be beneficial, or actually just kind of superfluous? maybe I'm just a stick in the mud.  but those are my concerns. |

 mikah never wanted any of this. she was just coming to visit a friend, that was all. a close family friend who'd happened to be at the wrong place at the wrong time, caught in the fire of death eaters, now put in st. mungos, probably permanently. the situation was not unlike what had happened to her mother, and so mikah couldn't help but feel annoyed as she had walked into the hospital. she didn't belong to a side, but she was definitely not on the one who'd killed her mother. and when the first curse was screamed, she remembered ducking, firing a few disarming spells of her own, and within moments, a full out battle broke out. and she was caught, in the fire, and, just like the two people aforementioned: at the wrong place at the wrong time.
it's been forever since mikah had anything more than a friendly duel, but she knew that this particular duel, if anybody comes up to her, would be deadly. was she scared? fuck, yes. but she didn't have time to be, as she deflected spells time and time again. she hardly had time to utter her own curses, the death eaters? far too good. her talent was at quidditch, and it's been forever since she's had to use magic to defend herself.
still, mik held her own, relying on adrenaline, if nothing else. a curse on the second floor had sent her flying across the room and against the wall, and she was sure she'd heard her ribs crack. she felt lightheaded as she continued to fight, and breathing was a pain. it wasn't the first time she's had to do something with an injury, but she was terrified, and she didn't know which way to go but up. up and up and up, hoping that there would be some sort of back up or order members or law enforcement wizards (did the wizarding world still have that, even??). she didn't want to die tonight, that was for sure. she was just hoping for the best, hoping that there would be help instead of all this chaos. still, at the sixth floor--almost all the way up, now--there were still death eaters. everywhere. she doesn't think she's ever seen so many.
mik caught a flash of red hair, a person ducking behind a fallen table... a wand, death eaters, the curse. she quickly put them together, and, despite the pain in her chest, shouted, "diffindo!" pointing at the ceiling above the death eaters, sending the lights on the ceilings falling down. she was drawing attention to herself, she knew. she could've gotten away, probably, but... she couldn't leave somebody else there, completely helpless. She ran to the table, extended a hand at the young girl. "come on, i got your back," she said. two of them together would be better than fighting alone. though by the looks of her... she was still in hogwarts, if not freshly graduated. great.
